Uncle Mo Is The Factor In 2011 Kentucky Derby Betting - 03-22-11
March 22 - 2011 Kentucky Derby betting continues to be dominated by one horse, Uncle Mo. He showed that his exceptional Juvenile form was no flash in the pan and that he has indeed trained on as a three-year-old when he made his seasonal debut in the Timely Writer Stakes.
The latest odds show Uncle Mo at 3/1, and that looks like a steal even though we have many prep races in front of us and only the second pool has closed for Future Wagering. The field is next in the betting at 7/2, and unless a horse comes from the clouds the favorite will be hard to stop.
Horses like The Factor have also been impressive, but they still have many lengths to find with Uncle Mo. The Factor won The Rebel Stakes in brilliant fashion, but he had that race all his own way and still strikes me as predominantly a speed horse. Like many brilliant horses he can certainly win certain races around a mile, but a mile and a quarter with other speed and good closers is a different story altogether. He just doesn't look like a Kentucky Derby horse.
Other horses attracting betting support include Soldat, Jaycito, Dialed In, and Sway Away. None of these horses will win this year's Kentucky Derby either.
Bet on Uncle Mo at 3/1. This will be the last time the horse will ever be this price again, for the remainder of his racing career.
