For five days in June the world's most famous horseracing festival, Royal Ascot takes center stage in the United Kingdom and attracts some of the best racehorses in the world. The Royal Ascot festival features no less than 17 Group races and attracts hundreds of thousands of race goers, many celebrities, socialites and of course royalty.

These races are the epitome of the "sport of kings" and it is no surprise that millions of pounds are wagered on Royal Ascot betting. The highlights of the meeting are the 6 Group One races, with two on the first day and one on every day thereafter. We have listed them below and have individual race reviews for each of them.

Royal Ascot is the jewel in the crown of the Ascot racecourse, and indeed of UK horseracing in general. It celebrates a course that will be 300 hundred years old in 2011 and is steeped in history and tradition. Today Ascot offers flat racing as well as jump racing for National Hunt horses, and hosts the highest precentage of Group 1 races on the English racing calendar.
Ascot racecourse was founded by Queen Anne and underwent major renovations a couple of years ago, unveiling the lavish new changes at the 2006 Royal Ascot meeting.
