Natmana Expected to Debut at Rosehill - 05-20-08
May 20 -All eyes will be on the Australian debut of Natmana at Sydney's
Rosehill Gardens Racecourse tomorrow (Wednesday, May 21st), the latest purchase
of one Australia's most respected and highly rated Group One horse trainers,
Chris Waller.
Waller, is who well known for buying his horses overseas, bought Natmana
in England in November last year along with six other colts and geldings, with
the objective of turning the horse into a great middle distance and staying
runner.
He admitted that Natmana has shown a 'remarkable amount of natural speed'. Said
Waller, 'Since we bought Natmana last year, he has shown surprising
potential and our objective for tomorrow's race is to make him stay, although
he'll certainly need the run.
'We had a choice to either trial Natmana again or run him at Rosehill
Gardens Event Centre Hcp (1200m) and, since Rosehill is in our backyard, we
opted to enter him in the race,' he said.
Natmana is scheduled to run tomorrow with two other Waller horses, the
disappointing three-year-old, Gently Bentley, and two-year-old Atomic Force.
Atomic Force came second in his debut at Hawkesbury and is also entered for an
open two-year-old race at Randwick this Saturday.
