Midnight Raider Impressive In Easy Victory - 04-02-11
April 2 - Another RaceHorseOwner.com syndicate has reason to celebrate today after an impressive performance by their juvenile gelding, Midnight Raider. Sent off at the prohibitive odds of 4/10 this striking son of Al Mufti showed that the punters' money was spot on (for once!) as he cruised home by over 3 lengths.
Midnight Raider won unextended and clocked a noteworthy time over the Kenilworth 1000m (5 furlongs), winning the race in 60.75 seconds. That's 0.6 seconds faster than the class average over that course and distance. Interestingly it was also 0.1 seconds faster than the winning time recorded for the next race on the Kenilworth card, which featured 3 year old colts and geldings.
Midnight Raider was selected by RaceHorseOwner.com co-founder Marc Weinberg at the 2010 National Yearling Sales. He was a bargain at R150,000 when one considers that he is one of the last progeny of Al Mufti. Victor Chandler obviously saw the potential as well since he chose to take a share in the horse.
RaceHorseOwner.com will be forming new syndicates after the 2011 National Yearling Sales. If you are interested in participating please contact us via email at webmaster@racehorseowner.com.
