Michael Tabor is a successful
businessman and prominent thoroughbred racehorse from the United
Kingdom. Born in 1941 in London, Tabor soon proved to be a natural
entrepreneur and went on to own a chain of successful and lucrative
sports betting shops across England (Arthur Prince). He started with 2 shops, that he bought from their bankrupt owner. He used his
sizeable income to fund his burgeoning love for horseracing to great
effect.
By the time he sold his sports betting business in 2003 for a whopping
50-million dollars, he had increased his number of Arthur Prince betting shops to 114, and already notched up some notable successes in
the horseracing world besides. These included victories in the top American horse
races the
Kentucky Derby and the
Belmont Stakes in 1995 with his
outstanding stallion, Thunder Gulch, who went on to win the Eclipse
Award the same year. |

In addition, Tabor is one of only four racehorse owners in the world to
have to owned both a Kentucky Derby (US) winner as well as an
Epsom
Derby (UK) winner. But his credits do not stop there, because Tabor was
also honored when his horse, Hurricane Run, was voted the World's Top
Ranked Horse by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities
in 1995.
During his involvement in horseracing, Tabor formed a long partnership
with Susan Magnier, the wife of Coolmore Stud owner John Magnier. Their
jointly-owned horses have won some large races, including Entrepreneur
who won the coveted 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket, England in 1997, as well
as Epsom Derby victors Galileo and High Chaparral.Michael Tabor is the
breeder and owner of the Giants Causeway who won numerous Gr 1 races and
never finished lower than second in any of his races. |
