The Hollywood Gold Cup - a Grade I stakes race held at Hollywood Park is a race open to three year old and up thoroughbred horses. The Hollywood Gold Cup was initially run as a handicap race and in 1997 switched to weight-for-age conditions. In 2005 it went back to the original handicap.
It carries a current a purse of $750,000 is one of the premier races on the West Coast of the United States.
