Henry Cecil Notches Up First Win Of The Season - 04-16-08
April 16 - Henry Cecil, named as champion trainer in Britain 9 times and known for 8 Epsom Oaks victories and 6 Epsom Derby victories is starting the 2008 season on a high note.
Born Tobouggie ridden by jockey Ted Duncan won the Showsec Maiden Stakes at Nottingham yesterday with a fiery show of spirit. She was running nicely when with 3 furlongs to go she gave it her all and managed to beat Fosool by only a neck. She is only the second horse sent out from Warren Place in Cecil's 2008 campaign, and this win has given the team a lot to look forward to.
Born Tobouggie is the daughter of champion sire Tobougg and this was her first start.
Cecil is looking forward to seeing Twice Over and Kandahar Run race at Newmarket. Twice Over has had 2 wins from 2 starts and Kandahar Run has had 2 wins and 1 second place from 3 starts.
Cecil has also announced that the talented Passage Of Time, who won the Criterium de Saint-Cloud in 2006, is likely to race her first race of the season at the Dahlia Stakes on May 3.
