Hennessy Gold Cup Betting And Free Tips
Author: Marc Weinberg
November 26 - The Gold Cup Chase, sponsored by Hennessy and run over 5200m and change at Newbury, is one of the highlights of the UK jump racing season. This year's contest looks wide open, although it is relevant to remember that well-fancied runners have won in recent years (Denman won this race twice, and last year it was Diamond Harry at 11/2).
The latest Hennessy Gold Cup betting is as follows:
9/2 Aiteen Thirtythree
5/1 Great Endeavour
6/1 Wymott
7/1 Michel Le Bon
8/1 Wayward Prince
12/1 Planet of Sound
12/1 Sarando
12/1 Beshabar
14/1 The Giant Bolster
16/1 Carruthers
20/1 Muirhead
25/1 Neptune Collonges
25/1 Billie Magern
25/1 Qhilimar
33/1 Blazing Bailey
33/1 Fair Along
33/1 Balthazar King
33/1 Tullamore Dew
I would look for the winner to come from amongst those quoted in single figures once again this year. The grey, Great Endeavour, was extremely impressive a fortnight ago when he romped home in the Paddy Power Gold Cup. That was over hurdles, but it proves that he gets this distance with ease, and the way he won suggests that he will be hard to beat today.
The Paul Nicholls pairing of Aiteen Thirtythree and Michel Le Bon will both have their supporters, but there are doubts about both horses. The latter has not run for two years, and Aiteen Thirtythree looks poorly treated at the weights.
For value, the best each way bet has to be Beshabar at 12/1. He is another who will stay the course, and certainly has the form to win a race of this nature. But my money will be on Great Endeavour to notch up his second major Gold Cup victory for the month.
