The Grand Prix de Paris is a flat horse race run on turf over 2400 meters. The race is for thoroughbred 3-year-olds. The purse is ?600 000 and the event is currently sponsored by Juddmonte Farms and run each July.
The race was run for the first time in 1863 and is one of France's four Classic races. The Longchamp track record as well as the Grand Prix de Paris race record was smashed by Scorpion in 2005. The record time was 2:24.30. |

The Longchamp racecourse is widely regarded as France's premier racecourse, and hosts some of the world's most important turf races. The Arc stands apart of course, but the French equivalent of the Guineas and the Derby are both run here as well. The racecourse is known for its numerous interlocking tracks. |
