Godolphin Face 2000 Guineas Quandry - 04-29-08
April 29 - Earlier today Saeed bin Suroor, Godolphin's trainer had not yet made any decisions about which of the 3 in-form horses Ibn Khaldun, Rio De La Plata and Fast Company would run in the Stanjamesuk.com 2000 Guineas on Saturday.
Ibn Khaldun fresh from winning the Racing Post trophy is likely to be their best hope and is third favourite for the race at 6-1.
Fast Company who came second in the Dewhurst Stakes was also an option, but the latest report is that he had a poor blood count on Tuesday night and will now miss the race.
Saeed Bun Suroor says there is still plenty of time to decide so they are not going to rush a decision, but they could well run both remaining runners.
New Approach is the 2-1 favourite in the stanjamesuk.com 2000 Guineas and the second favourite is Raven's Pass who is priced at 4-1. Raven's Pass who will be ridden by Jimmy Fortune seems to be working much harder and is in pretty good form.
Perfect Stride is another possible start for the 2000 Guineas. Sir Michael Stoute, his trainer is very happy with his progress, but is loathe to commit to whether he is a definite start or not at this stage.
Aidan O'Brien has 4 entries in the race. They include Henrythenavigator, Jupiter Pluvius, One Great Cat and Plan.
We think this could be O'Brien's year to capture the Classic and our pick to win the race is JUPITER PLUVIUS
