Free Place Accumulator Tip For SA Horse Racing - 05-21-08

May 21 - The Place Accumulator is one of the best-value bets you can make at a race course, particularly in South Africa where you can play any percentage you like of the ticket's total cost. If you're a penniless native of the land you can stake 1% of the ticket, and if you're a fat cat there's nothing to stop you from taking that same ticket 1000 times or more.

The total cost of this ticket is R216.00 to have 1 full permutation. Brief synopses of the races follow below or you can skip to the bottom and shout out the numbers at your local hapless TBA representative while she munches on a sausage roll. You know who you are.

RACE 3, Leg 1: We'll start off with three horses, because it is tough to go out in the first leg and this race could justify going wide. Take numbers 2,3, and 10.

RACE 4, Leg 2: LETS FLY AWAY will be many punters' banker here, and with notorious contrarian Mark Khan aboard (wins when he shouldn't loses when he should) what could go wrong? How about everything, so we'll include CLASSIC CHICK just to be safe. Take numbers 2 and 7.

RACE 5, Leg 3: Good luck catching this Trifecta. There are a lot of decent horses here who all seem closely matched on form. We'll go wide although CALUMET might be the best today and trust in three of them to get us home. Take numbers 3,4, and 7.

RACE 6, Leg 4: Another wide-open race with plenty of room for disaster. A lot of these horses like to come from far off the pace, which could lead to a false-run race and an upset finish. Once again we'll need three here to survive. Take numbers 3,8, and 12.

RACE 7, Leg 5: Small field and the two horses ridden by Khan and Strydom should get us and everyone else home dry. Take numbers 2 and 3.

RACE 8, Leg 6: A mediocre race but we think that two horses could suffice here. NAVARCH is a consistent type and our roughie pick to win the race is SPOT PRICE who looks ready to improve here. Take numbers 5 and 7.

RACE 9, Leg 7: It's always a thrill to get to the last leg of an exotic bet like the Pick Six or the PA and find yourself bankering on one horse to bring you the money. And so we come to PAN GALACTIC, number 1 on the card and our main hope of a good day. He should come through for us so...Take number 1.
