Free Horse Racing Tips For Kenilworth on Saturday - 01-10-09
January 10 - Here are our free horse racing tips for Saturday's race meeting at Kenilworth. Pocket Power is bidding to win his third Queen's Plate in a row. Dancer's Daughter is looking to win the Paddock Stakes, the other Group 1 race on the card. These are the two best horses in South Africa, and both of them are amongst the Top 10 horses in the world.
The two finished in a dead-heat in the 2008 Durban July Handicap and they could face one another in this year's J&B Met handicap as well.
Leg 1: Wide open race. Cabernet Al and Lenton Grove will vie for favouritism but any number of horses can win. Don't leave out La Destina, a real roughie, and if you can afford it put in the field. We'll go with 1x2x3x4x5x6x7x8x9 and hope like hell that 11 doesn't win.
Leg 2: Most of these stayers have collateral form lines and Joey Ramsden has a strong hand with 4 runners in the race. Don't leave him out obviously. We'll take 1x3x4x6x7 and cast a wide net. Ela-Re at 8/1 looks like nice value.
Leg 3: Another tough race. Nordic Moon and Rexana look the best, but we'll go wider as there are a number who could win. Take 2x3x4x5x8. We're vulnerable to being knocked out by Oracle News, number 1, but that's life.
Leg 4: Ok, so this is the Paddock Stakes and Dancer's Daughter against fillies off level weights should be a 1/5 shot. These do get beaten, usually by "acts of god" that no insurance policy can foresee. She should win by a distance. Banker number 1.
Leg 5: If we're going to make money we need to beat Pocket Power, which may well be impossible. Over a mile at Kenilworth he has never lost, but this is a strong field - much stronger than the Paddock Stakes field that Dancer's Daughter has to face. Buy and Sell has beaten him before, and for a real longshot we're including Vision of Grandeur as well. Go with 1x2x5, or just banker Pocket Power and go with the flow.
Leg 6: Two horse race potentially between Bush Pirate and Volpista, and it might even pay to banker Bush Pirate based on his last excellent run. I think this favourite is beatable, however, and will also include Fort Vogue, since I hate getting knocked out in the last leg of a Pick Six. Go with 1x2x4.
This Pick Six costs a little over R2,000 for the full one, so take a % and play along with the pros!
