Often just referred to as the The Derby, The Epsom Derby or Investec Derby is one of the greatest and most important flat thoroughbred horse races in the world. It's a Group 1 race for three-year-old colts and fillies, held annually in June at Epsom Downs, Epsom, Surrey, England.

The Derby is one of the 5 United Kingdom Classic Races and the second leg of the English Triple Crown. Horses that are victorious in the Derby are instantly worth millions of pounds, coveted by breeders around the globe, and feted throughout Europe for the remainder of their careers.

There are few more challenging tracks out there than Epsom Downs for inexperienced three-year-olds in a big field of runners. The undulating course has undone many a top horse in the past and early position in the Derby or Oaks is often crucial.
