Donn Handicap Betting Preview And Free Tips - 01-29-08
January 29 - The Donn Handicap is one of the most important horseraces held in the USA in the month of January. It's for the older horses and is worth a cool half a million dollars. The race is run at Gulfstream Park over a Mile and an 1/8 or 1800m or 9 furlongs.
This year's Donn field features a stand out performer, in our handicapping opinion anyway, in the form of Einstein, and we're picking him without hesitation to win this race. He could turn out to be the second best older horse in America this year, behind Curlin of course, and this should be a good opportunity to show that ability.
The field should also include Daaher and Brass Hat, who are no slouches either. Todd Pletcher is expected to send out two runners - A.P. Arrow and Fairbanks, but we'd be surprised if either proved good enough to win this Grade 1 race. A.P. Arrow needs to be included in all Exotics plays though.
The horse that could well round out the top three in this spot is the Doug O'Neill trained Spring At Last. This is the horse that won the Grade 2 Godolphin Mile at Nad Al Sheba last year, and he looked sharp in his first run back in the USA at Santa Anita last time out when he won in allowance company.
You don't have to be a genius to bet Einstein this Saturday, but you will look pretty shrewd!
