Cheltenham Festival For 2008 Horses To Watch - 01-28-08
January 28 - The 2008 Cheltenham Festival is the betting highlight for jump racing enthusiasts in the United Kingdom and yesterday's prep races shook up the ante-post odds in a big way. The Champion Hurdle now looks to be at the mercy of Sizing Europe after his flawless win at Leopardstown.
Hardy Eustace was in this race, a horse who has won the Champion Hurdle twice in an excellent career, but he looked ordinary against Sizing Europe. The bookmakers were quick to resond slashing his odds for the Festival race to 3/1. Some online racebooks have even gone as low as 9/4 about his chances.
The SunAlliance has a new potential winner as well in the mare Pomme Tiepy, who won easily as well today with Ruby Walsh back in the saddle and booting home winners again. The champion jockey was also on board Atrurio, who won yesterday.
Pomme Tiepy may not run at Cheltenham in March, however, and so you can still get 14/1 about her chances at some bookies. She is as low as 10/1 with others.
