Belmont Stakes 2007 Betting Contenders - 05-24-07

May 24 - This is our first look at possible Belmont Stakes runners for the final leg of the 2007 Triple Crown on June 9. We have listed the leading betting contenders and a few roughies who could start at long odds to win the Belmont, no stranger to big upsets in recent years.

Chelokee will be ridden by R Dominguez and comes off a win in the Barbaro stakes at Pimlico on Preakness day.

Circular Quay will be ridden by J Velazquez and comes off a 5th place finish a long way back in the Preakness Stakes.

Curlin will be ridden by R Alborado and comes off that brilliant win in the Preakness.

Great Hunter will be ridden by C Nakatani and comes off a disappointing run towards the back of the pack in the Kentucky Derby.

Hard Spun will be ridden by M Pino and comes off another gutsy effort in the Triple Crown when 3rd in the Preakness Stakes following his second place effort in the Derby.

Imawildandcrazyguy will be ridden by M Guidry and comes off an interesting 4th in the Kentucky Derby. Will enjoy the extra distance of the Belmont and is a lively upset threat.

Nobiz Like Shobiz will be ridden by C Velasquez and comes off a poor effort in the Kentucky Derby.

Sightseeing will be ridden by E Prado and comes off a win last week in the Peter Pan Stakes. A decent chance to earn money in the Belmont for another late finisher.

Street Sense will be ridden by C Borel and comes off that heartbreaking and heartstopping loss in the Preakness to Curlin.

Tiago will be ridden by M Smith and comes off a 7th place closing finish in the Kentucky Derby that also makes him dangerous here.
