Bart Cummings
Bart Cummings was born in South Australia in 1927. He is 80 years old and still training winners at the highest level of Australian horse racing.

Born James Bartholomew Cummings he is known as the Melbourne Cup King, an honour he earned by winning the race an unprecedented eleven times since 1965.

Bart Cummings was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1991. He was also inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame.

In 2007 Cummings also appeared on an Australian postage stamp as part of the 'Australian Legends' series. In 2008 Cummings returned to the forefront of Australian horse racing by training another Melbourne Cup winner, Vision, for his leading owner Dato Tan Chin Nam.

Cummings became a trainer despite being allergic to hay, which for most men would have been a deal breaker. He has gone on to train the winners of 248 Group 1 races.
