2008 Triple Crown Power Rankings - 02-21-08
February 21 - The 2008 Triple Crown is some of the best horse racing betting action out there. The first iteration of 2008 Triple Crown Power Rankings are as follows (as of Feb 21, obviously this list will fluctuate A LOT and we'll continue to update it on a weekly basis as the prep races give us a clearer picture):
1. War Pass Breeders' Cup winner is expected to debut as a three-year old at the end of this month. Top ranked until he proves otherwise.
2. Pyro Won the Risen Star Stakes (G3) and next start should be the Louisiana Derby (G2) in March.
3. Georgie Boy Won the San Vicente Stakes (G2) last time out.
4. Court Vision Won the Remsen Stakes (G2) back in November. Runs this weekend in the Fountain Of Youth.
5. Crown of Thorns Won the Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G2) and could be headed for the Sham Stakes next.
6. Anak Nakal Won the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs, so we're watching this one closely as he is course suited.
7. Tale of Ekati 4th in the Breeders' Cup last season. Will debut this season in March, and expected to improve.
8. El Gato Malo Won the San Rafael Stakes (G3) and will go for the Sham Stakes next.
9. Denis of Cork Won the Southwest Stakes (G3). Racing in a small-market and under the radar, but has ability.
10. Into Mischief 2nd in the San Vicente Stakes (G2) but has some upside at this point.
